Today's art, literature, technology, politics etc. creates the history of the future. But which objects of our age will exist in the future? If anything…?
Museums all over the world are keeping millions of historical objects, which tell us something about our origin. These objects have given us a great knowledge about our ancestors. Now it's our turn to leave pieces to the people in the year of 3006...
Maybe the remains from our age will be so well preserved and documented that the archaeologists of 3006 will know everything about us. Or perhaps they have no interest at all in knowing who we were and how we lived. In their eyes we could just be prehistoric primates, embarrassed by the thought that they are descendants of us.
A lot can happen a thousand years from now, just think about how much that has happened for the past thousand years. For example: Not until around the year of 1000 AC, most part of Sweden had converted to Christianity; Which means that there were actually a few Vikings left! Hard to imagine – Only about 30 generations ago!
How do we know things like that? From rune stones, Viking graves and a large number of excavations of Viking homes. So, is it likely that similar remains will be found from our age in the year of 3006? No. Unfortunately, we don’t use the same materials now as our ancestors did. A CD-ROM with information can simply not replace a rune stone with information. It won’t last.
Other factors that support the conclusion that things of our age won’t survive are natural disasters, wars, terrorist attacks, sabotage etc. These events can destroy a big part of our remains to the future, and some of them will certainly do.
But hopefully grandma’s old earth cellar collapses in an appropriate way, so that one day in the year of 3006, an archaeologist finds the raspberry jam pot and bottles of blackcurrant juice intact, and smiles to the fact that he has found a small, but important, part of 2006.

As I read the text I look for answers, what is the history of tomorrow? What objects will be interesting? Maybe a little more about us, and what we might leave behind, would have improved your text. But, I very much enjoy reading about the Vikings as well!Hard to imagine they were so barbaric!
I agree with you, that future inhabitants on earth might despise the fact that they are related to us! Just like we aren´t that amused about being related to monkeys!
The text is well written and interesting to read, both start and ending are great!(seems you are an expert on witty starts and endings!) Although I´m not sure I´d eat 1000 year old jam... :)
Remember to consider subject-verb agreement, that will make the text even easier to follow! Also I think you should be careful using words like "wanna" when you write!
